12th - 13th December 2013 - Meeting in Brescia

On December 12th and 13th, it took place in Brescia the Italian meeting of the project, hosted by the partner, the consortium Solco Brescia, and organized in collaboration with the silent partner, the social cooperative Tempo Libero (which works in the fields of professional orientation and mobility European Youth) and the consortium Work Agency.

The first morning program, held at the premises of the consortium, in Brescia, was devoted primarily to illustrate the context in which Italian employment policies are implemented, providing the partners with information and data on the country education system, unemployment and employment rates, early school leaving and the main actors and actions of the welfare system.

Two operators, experts in employment support for disadvantaged people, presented the consortium Work Agency, the legislation and the type of funding on which it is based and the services it provides to companies and citizens.

In the afternoon, the working group was hosted by Gerards - company of the cosmetics sector and partner in a project on youth policies presented to delegates during the afternoon. The presentations included the voices of the institutions, of work and training agencies and those of the young people who benefitted from project actions.

On the second day, the meeting was hosted at the premises of Cauto, work integration social enterprise active in the field of waste management and green economy.

The heart of the second day was the presentation, by social cooperatives Il Calabrone and Tempo Libero, of the services for young people "Informagiovani" (infocenter on education, work and leisure) and youth center "La piastra", and of the innovations introduced to make them more responsive to young people needs, all supported by data and videos.

The morning ended with a visit to Cauto headquarters and the presentation of its activities and services (including the recovery of the food which is not sellable - then redistributed to people in need - from supermarkets, the bicycle repair workshop, the second hand market and an important investment in a new waste storage platform.

Also for the first day dinner, Solco Brescia kept the focus on youth employment: the partners gathered in the historic center of the city in Qoelet, a small cultural center which is both a cafè/estaurant and venue for exhibitions and concerts, founded and run by a group of young people.
